Five Class I railroads meet in Kansas City, which makes it one of the most connected intermodal gateways in the country. We run company-owned trucks and chassis at every active KC ramp, serving Missouri, Kansas, Iowa, Nebraska, and Arkansas.
Gate hours and reservation rules vary from ramp to ramp and they change more often than a web page can keep up with. Call dispatch and we will tell you where things stand today.

Some Kansas City ramps have no chassis on site. Norfolk Southern’s Voltz Yard is one of them. Because we bring our own, that is not a problem you have to solve and not a delay you have to explain to your customer.
Where your freight is going matters as much as where it lands. These are the distribution corridors we run to most often, and about what the drive looks like from the nearest ramp.

Kansas City is one of the most connected intermodal gateways in North America. Five Class I railroads serve it: BNSF, Union Pacific, Norfolk Southern, CSX, and CPKC. That gives you real routing options, and it also gives you five different sets of gate rules to keep straight. We work all of them, so you get the options without the coordination.
