People & Culture

The people who move your freight, and the ones who move us.

A truck is just a truck without the person driving it and the crew behind them. This is where you meet the drivers, the dispatchers, and the office that keeps it all straight, plus a look at what it’s actually like to work here.

Life at Mark-It

A freight company that feels like a smaller place than it is

We’ve grown a lot since 2009, but we’ve worked to keep the feel of a place where people know each other’s names. Drivers stick around here, and a lot of that comes down to being treated like part of the company instead of a number on a load board, and an office that picks up the phone when a driver needs something.

Around here

  • Drivers who’ve been here for years, not months
  • Promote-from-within where we can
  • An office that picks up when a driver calls
  • A shop and yard people are proud of
  • Get-togethers that include the families

Around here

We’re More Than a Freight Company

We're a tight crew that treats your freight like our own. The same people answer the phone, watch your loads, and stick around long enough to know your name.

Culture

What it’s like to work here

Less about perks, more about how people get treated. A few things that say more than a mission statement would.

Room to Grow

A lot of the people running things here started on the phones or behind the wheel. When someone’s ready for more, we’d rather promote from within than hire a stranger.

Get-Togethers

A few times a year the whole crew gets together, families included. It’s not a line on a benefits sheet, it’s just how a growing company keeps knowing each other by name.

In the Community

We’re part of the towns our terminals sit in, and we try to act like it, supporting local causes and showing up where it counts, not just where it looks good.

The great team in the office, and also the other drivers. I also like how organized the company is.
